Website AI Chat

Turn on the AI chat on your restaurant website and learn how guests use it — suggestions, allergens, ordering, and order status.

1

Turn on the chat

In admin, open Website → AI Chat. Tick Enable and choose Platform-managed — we run the chat on our AI, billed a small flat price per guest question, no API key needed. Save. The chat then appears on every menu page in your guests' language.

Pro Tip

Platform-managed needs a paid plan (Starter or Pro). On Free, use Bring your own key instead.

2

Make your menu answer-ready

The chat answers only from your live menu — never from a guess. Fill in allergens, dietary flags (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free), prices and short descriptions. The better your menu data, the better the dish suggestions and the safer the allergen answers.

3

See it on your site

Open your public menu page. A chat bubble appears in the bottom corner. Ask something a guest would ask — 'what's good and vegetarian?' or 'is the burger gluten-free?' — and check the answer against your menu.

4

What guests can do

Guests get dish suggestions, allergen and dietary answers, and help ordering — the chat builds a cart and returns a secure checkout link. It never charges a card on its own. Signed-in guests can also ask about their past orders and the status of a current one.

Pro Tip

For a severe allergy the chat always tells guests to confirm with your staff.

5

Watch usage and cost

Open AI Usage to see questions, tokens and cost per venue. You pay a small flat price per guest question on your usual invoice, and anonymous guests are rate-limited automatically so costs stay predictable.
